“(Disobedient Stories for the Little Ones”)
Gulbene County Library has started to implement the project “(Disobedient Stories for Little Ones”), the aim of which is to promote the availability of the latest children's original literature in Gulbene County, especially in Lejasciems and Stāķi, to introduce Gulbene County readers to the latest works by Latvian writers.
25.02. The young writer Signe Viška visited the Gulbene Children's Library and met with the children of the preparation groups of the 2nd and 3rd kindergartens of Gulbene.
March 16 The second meeting with the young Latvian writer and artist Rebekas Lukošus will take place.
Rebecca Lukošus (1995) studied painting at the Latvian Academy of Arts. She successfully took her first steps in book illustration as one of Biki-Buka's book illustrators. The artist has participated in such projects as Poetry 10x10 centimeters, Graphics Calendar 2016, etc.
The artist's steps in the art of book illustrations can also be seen in the Children's Library of Gulbene Region - Latvian folk tales: 100 fairy tales 100 artists The book “Disobedient Grandfather” written and illustrated by Rebecca Lukošus herself is published in the publishing house “big and small” in 2021.
Rebeka Lukošus will visit Gulbene 1 PII and Stāķi PII, where she will meet the children of the preparation group.
