We invite you to participate in the "Dad in Latvia" photo contest!

Or are you a father who spends a lot of time with children? Do you sometimes think about your role in the family and how relationships with children develop?
The Swedish Embassy is announcing an open invitation to fathers in Latvia and invites them to supplement their upcoming photo exhibitions "Dad in Sweden" and "Dad in Latvia" with their photos.

"Dad in Sweden" is an exhibition by Johan Bävman, a Swedish photographer, that seeks to explore and explain why fathers in Sweden choose to stay at home to care for their children, and which this experience has given to fathers who have taken this opportunity. The exhibition has already been shown in more than 50 countries around the world. Now we are happy to take it to Latvia as well and invite fathers from all over Latvia to send their photo moments to the upcoming parallel exhibition "Dad in Latvia".

To participate:
- Take (or find a recently taken) photo where you are seen with your child or children, or where another dad in Latvia is seen with your child / children
- Write a short description / motto of how you look at your father's role in the family
- Send a photo (one photo) with a description to the Swedish Embassy by e-mail: ambassaden.riga@gov.se by February 3
- A total of 15 photos will be selected in the competition
- Photographer Anda Krauze will then meet with the winners and take professional photos with their fathers and children as part of the exhibition.

Every dad in Latvia is invited to participate in the photo competition!
The photo exhibition "Dad in Latvia" will be shown in parallel with the exhibition "Dad in Sweden" in April at the National Library of Latvia. After that, the exhibition will travel to several other cities in Latvia. Participants will be invited to participate in the opening of the exhibition and we also plan to invite you to a special event at the Swedish Embassy. The photo exhibitions "Dad in Sweden" and "Dad in Latvia" are a collaboration between the Swedish Institute (SI), the Swedish Embassy in Latvia, the Latvian parents' organization Mammamuntetiem.lv and the National Library of Latvia.
