Writer Laura Vinogradova visited Gulbene

First, Laura met with the older group's children in the first kindergarten. The children had already got acquainted with Meža Susuri, ants, Vilceni and Pūce Bērnu, as well as Zalktēni and deer girls. All the children like the forest, only some of them are a little afraid of the forest, but they were ready to show the writer their forest, where both cranberries and heather grow, and various trees - even a cork tree! The writer received lovely hugs, flowers and a beautiful greeting from the children!

In the evening, Laura met with adult readers at the Gulbene County Library. At dusk, Laura's reading of her story "The River," which is about relationships and staying together, was that it was not always necessary to escape to find oneself. This year, Laura became the winner of the European Union Prize for Literature - her taste in "River" has been praised by an international jury. Laura's husband also participated in the creation of this book as an illustrator.

Readers have also praised her collection of stories, Izelpas, and the somewhat mystical stories dedicated to her native Pope in Lāču kalns. "It takes courage and a desire to say the essential and also the deeply personal," the writer said of herself as a human being. Laura currently works at the Museum of Literature and Music, where she implements interesting projects, for example, she has created stories for the exhibition “I, the Typewriter”, which shows the importance of the typewriter in the lives of writers, linguists and actors.

The writer's open and honest narrative touched everyone who had come to the meeting. Thank you Laura for the trust!

The cycle of conversations "Her Story" is implemented with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation.
