High schools

Gulbene Secondary School is a new school in Vidzeme region, which was established by merging Gulbene State Gymnasium with Gulbene Secondary School No. 2.

The beginnings of the school can be traced back to 1926. Over time, it has changed its name, but has remained in the memory of the people of Gulbene and the surrounding area as a Gulbene business school and vocational school.

The high school building was built in 1935. Its authors are R. Dunēns, the head of the Gulbene Railway junction, and I. Pupons, the city surveyor. It was Gulbene Primary School, after the Second World War - Gulbene 10th Railway Secondary School.

In 1937, Lizuma 4th grade primary school and Velena II grade primary school were merged, creating Lizuma sixth grade primary school, which started operating in Lizuma castle from October 2.
