Snips Artūrs (1949), writer, journalist
Writer Snips Artūrs was born on March 4, 1949 in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, to a family of deported farmers.
1958 returned to Latvia from deportation. Graduated from Gulbene Secondary School No. 1, RPI Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering.
Worked at Ķegums HPP, was the editor of "Kultūras fonds Avīze", a member of the editorial board of "Kultūras Avīze", a member of the Writers' Union (1987).
The first publication - the story "The Road" in the magazine "Liesma" (1973). He has published prose collections "Incorrigible Relatives" and "Small Village there and back". He also worked in journalism (together with D. Īvāns he turned against the construction of Daugavpils HPP).
