Binde Ilze (1941), poet

Poet Binde Ilze (also Ilze Binde - Ērglis), born on July 7, 1941 in Spāre, Drabešu parish, in the family of an accountant.

Graduated from Lejasciems Secondary School (1959) and Riga Technical School of Culture and Education (1961). Studied at the LVU Faculty of History and Philosophy (1965-1968).

Worked in Valmiera district. at the House of Culture as an instructor (1961 - 1963), at the Youth Theater as a ticket controller (1963 - 1976), in the editorial office of TV literature and art programs (1979 - 1982) , Rainis Museum of Literary and Art History (1985-1989). Since 1989 works in O. Vācietis Memorial Museum.

Member of the Writers' Union (1972).

The first significant publication - material for the screenplay "Eduards Veidenbaums" in the magazine "Karogs" (1967). Recognized as the best debut of the year, the collection of poems "Crazy Circuses" (1971) is characterized by the directness and emotionality of the experience, the imagery close to the folk song. The content of the collections "... Let the End Remain" (1978), "Father's House" (1982) is sharper, there is a tendency to preserve harmony and traditions.

The poems are composed ("While the Sun Does Not Set Yet" - Im. Kalnins, the series "Four Poems by Ilze Binde" - J. Carlson).
