Auza Lilija (1900 - 1962), poet

The poet Auza Lilija (real name Lolija Lūse) was born on December 11, 1900 in Salinieki, Aduliena parish, in a farmer's family.

Studied at Aduliena Parish School and Madona Secondary School.

She graduated from the Latvian Youth Union Gymnasium in Riga (1923), then lived in her father's home and rarely in Riga.

The poet has worked in the association "Zaļā vārna".

The first publication - the poem "Māmiņas stroller" in the magazine "Lira" (1924).

Collections of poems: "Wind Melodies" (1931), "Shining Earth" (1936), "Sun Wreath" (1939), "Golden Smokes" (1944), a play for youth Blooming rye "(1939).

L.Auza's poetry is characterized by romantic feelings and optimism, the lyrics of nature and love dominate.

The poet has written about 20 plays and sketches.

L.Auza died on October 11, 1962 in Riga, buried in Meža cemetery.
