Maldonis Voldemārs (1870 - 1941), pastor

Pastor, teacher Maldonis Voldemārs was born on July 18, 1870 in Tirzai.

Studied at Tirza parish school, then at Tirza, Vecpiebalga, Liezere parish schools. Graduated from Cēsis City School (1889). 1895 He graduated from the Alexander Gymnasium in Riga as an external student, and studied theology at the University of Tartu (1895-1900).

He worked as a teacher in Blome (1889 - 1892), in Torņakalns (1892 - 1995). In 1901, a private women's gymnasium was founded in Riga and was its director until 1909. 1909 - 1912 pastor and teacher in Lubāna, 1912 - 1919 first pastor in Cēsis city parish.

In 1917 he became a member of the Provisional Land Council.

Teaching staff of the University of Latvia since 1919, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Professor.
He has written scientific works "Mārtiņš Luters, Life and Work" (1937), "Evangelical Dogmatics" (1939), "Ethics of Poruka", "Religion of Poruka", etc.

Died on February 22, 1941 in Riga.
