Grabovsky Leonid (1949-2011), actor

Actor and director Grabovskis Leonīds was born on December 3, 1949 in Rīga, in a family of administrative staff. Brother - actor and director Robert Liger. Brother - actor and director Romans Grabovskis.

 

Graduated from Gulbene Secondary School No. 2 (1967), LVK Theater Faculty (1975).

Actor of the National Theater since 1975.

The roles created by the actor are characterized by heightened emotionality, harsh directness, expressiveness of the body. Highlights: Jeffrey (J. Goldman's "The Lion in Winter"), The Black Knight (Rain's "Fire and Night"), Don Juan (Shakespeare's "Big Break, Little Wool"), Humber Humber (E. Olby's "Lolita") , Raskolnikov (F. Dostoevsky 's "Crime and Punishment"), Jalmar (H. Ibsen' s "Forest Duck"). In the comic roles, the effect was most often accentuated with seriousness or naivety - Gustav with a trumpet (E. Kestner's "Emil and the Boys of Berlin"), Glestakov (N. Gogol's "Auditor"), Stabule (V. Shakespeare's "Dream of a Summer Night").

He has created poetry programs, peculiarly interpreting the poetry of O.Vācietis, I.Ziedonis and A.Čaks.
He has also participated in films - "City Keys", "In the Shadow of the Sword", "If We Will Endure It All", "Life".

L. Grabovskis collection of poems "Insomnia Insomnia" (1998) has been published.
