Grabovskis Romāns (1945-2017), actor, director

Actor and director Grabovskis Romāns was born on November 8, 1945 in Riga, in a family of administrative staff. Brother - actor and director Robert Liger. Brother - actor and director  Grabovskis Leonīds.

Graduated from Gulbene Secondary School No. 2 (1969), LVK Theater Faculty (1976), Higher directors' courses in Moscow (1984). Joined the B.Brecht International Workshop in Leipzig (1993).

He made his feature film debut in the film "Road Signs" (1968).

Actor of the Valmiera Drama Theater (1970-1972).

Youth theater actor (since 1976).

Director of the Youth Theater (1984-1986). Studied the poetry drama "Walkers" (1981).
He has been a guest director at the Puppet Theater of Puppet, Liepaja and Valmiera.

Worked in amateur theater. The "Comedian Company" led by R. Grabovskis in the early 1990s has succeeded in several international festivals with the application of post-absurd stylistics in the interpretation of H. Pauks' drama.

Director of the Farmers' Drama Theater (1994-1995).

R.Grabovskis died in 2017.
