From the history of the library:
Stāmeriena Library Society was founded in 1909. The first librarian Pēteris Lapiņš. In the 1930s, agricultural and conservation associations with their own libraries were established.
After World War II, the library resumed its work in 1946. For many years the head of the library (1952-1981) was Anastasia Kazak. As of January 2006, the head of the library is Spodra Kalva. Graduated from the Information and Library Studies Department of the University of Latvia.
The library offers:
- A collection of books and periodicals for children and adults
- Collection of local history materials
- BIS ALISE, a local history database created by the library
- Databases "Letonika" Lursoft Newspaper Library and Lursoft Enterprise Database
- Internet
- Computer services
- Printing, scanning and copying services
- SBA (Interlibrary Loan)
