The library is closed to visitors on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

From the history of the library:
Stāmeriena Library Society was founded in 1909. The first librarian Pēteris Lapiņš. In the 1930s, agricultural and conservation associations with their own libraries were established.
After World War II, the library resumed its work in 1946. For many years the head of the library (1952-1981) was Anastasia Kazak. As of January 2006, the head of the library is Spodra Kalva. Graduated from the Information and Library Studies Department of the University of Latvia.
