The library is closed to visitors on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

From the history of the library:
Information about the existence of libraries has survived from the 19th century. at the end of the 19th century, when librarian, bookseller and publisher Jānis Misiņš was active. The library of the charity society was founded in 1919 (1054 volumes in 1925). 20th century In the second half of the 1920s, the Lejasciems City Library began operating (182 volumes in 1931). The names of the library have changed over time, since 1991 it has been the library of Lejasciems parish. In the summer of 2000, the library moved to new premises - the birthplace of the literary philosopher Zenta Mauriņa. From 1994 to 2007, the library was managed by Inta Balode. Maira Lukina has been the library manager since 2007.
