From library history:
The year of the foundation of the library is mentioned in the archival documents in 1947. Until then, the libraries of separate associations operated: the library of the Aduliena Singing Association, the library of the Jaungulbene Consumer Association (1919) with 671 volumes and the library of the Gulbene Agricultural Association (1900) with 600 volumes.
Dzidra Rudzīte has been managing the library since 1975. Graduated from the library department of the Riga Technical School of Culture and Education. In 2003, a separate reading room and information center were established at the library.
