From the history of the library:
The library was founded in 1966. The first librarian was Antonina Meikstuma. She worked until 1974. From 1981 to 2006, the library was run by Ludmilla Kindzule.
Laimdota Ostrovska is the head of the library from 2006 to 2020. Graduated from Riga Technical School of Culture. Since 2020, the library has been managed by Sarmīte Stupāne.

The library offers:

• A collection of books and periodicals for children and adults;
• Collection of local history materials;
• Database "Letonika" and "Lursoft Newspaper Library";
• Internet;
• Computer services;
• Printing, scanning, copying services
• SBA (Interlibrary Loan)
